Nancy Anderson is currently the Assistant Director of Special Education for the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative. Nancy is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education. She also holds a Sixth Year Certificate from St. Cloud State University in Educational Administration and Leadership. Nancy holds licenses in the area of Elementary Education, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, Specific Learning Disabilities, K-12 Principal, and Director of Special Education. Nancy began her teaching career teaching 1st and 2nd grade in Eagle Valley School District, before teaching Special Education for 3 years at Eagle Valley. In 1994, Nancy was hired by the Brainerd School District to teach at the Minnesota Learning Center (MLC), a level 4 program. Nancy taught at MLC for 5 years, before becoming the Program Coordinator for the program. In 2006, Nancy was hired as the Assistant Principal of MLC, and in 2008 she was hired as the Principal, which became the Lincoln Education Center (LEC) for the 2008-2009 school year when the program was moved to the closed Lincoln Elementary School Building. In 2013, Nancy was hired at the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative to be the Assistant Director of Special Education, serving primarily the Brainerd School District.
Nancy has extensive experience in regards to special education programming, including care and treatment, due process, funding, and staffing.
