Creating a crisis plan for youth with mental health needs
Youth with mental health needs may have challenges regulating their emotions or problem-solving when they experience distress. Unmet academic, social, or emotional needs can quickly escalate to a crisis situation when they lack the skills needed to regulate their emotions and manage behavior. Join us to learn how to develop a proactive crisis plan with your youth that will provide support and information to help lessen the intensity of the situation. Participants will learn: – The key features of a proactive crisis plan – Crisis planning based on principles of wellness, recovery, resiliency, and person-centered planning – Crisis planning for regular education, 504 plans, and special education.
If an ASL interpreter is required, please notify workshops@pacer.org at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
