Understanding special education for your Native American child
Parents, guardians, and family members of Native American students in special education are invited to join PACER’s Native American family advocate for a workshop that will help deepen their understanding of special education. Attendees will learn about the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as well as how they can increase parent involvement and advocacy in school communities. The presentation will be followed by an open Q&A session. To create a safe space for families to voice their questions, we kindly ask that only those that identify as a parent, guardian, or family member of Native children in special education attend this session.
If an ASL interpreter is required, please notify workshops@pacer.org at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
