Thriving Together: Managing health needs in school
Supporting your child’s health needs in school or a childcare setting can feel overwhelming. Join us for this virtual workshop to gain an understanding of the most common health and education plans, what each one does, and when it is needed. You’ll also learn more about the role of the school nurse and other key team members who can help support your child during the school day. The plans discussed will include:
– Individual Health Plan (IHP)
– Individual Child Care Program Plan
– Emergency Care Plan
– 504 plan
– Individualized Education Program (IEP)
– Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)
Thriving Together: A family’s guide to navigating disability services is a workshop series that brings together families and professionals to learn practical tools and strategies to help inform the experience of raising a child with a disability. Each workshop will focus on one of five different themes: family experience, healthcare navigation, public benefits, school health, and community support. Attendance for all five workshops in the series is recommended but not required.
If an ASL interpreter is required, please notify workshops@pacer.org at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
